Growth advice that gets marked afterwards
Paldoris Ventures works with founders and owner-managers across Minnesota on commercial growth, partnerships and the decisions that shape the next three years.
Growth Strategy
Where growth will actually come from and what the business should stop doing to fund it, logged as specific recommendations that we revisit at twelve months.
- Recommendations logged when given
- Revisited at 12 and 24 months
- Stop-doing list included
- Outcomes published either way
Business Development
Building the commercial function: pipeline, pricing and the first proper sales hires, with the assumptions written down so they can be tested later.
- Assumptions written down
- Pricing tested, not asserted
- Hiring sequence recommended
- Reviewed against outcomes
Partnership Development
Finding and structuring commercial partnerships, with realistic expectations of what a partner will actually do rather than what they agreed to do.
- Realistic partner expectations
- Termination terms agreed early
- No finder fees accepted
- Performance thresholds defined
Market Entry
Entering a new geography or segment, including the recommendation not to, which is the outcome on a meaningful share of these engagements.
- Do-not-enter advice given
- Entry costs modelled honestly
- Sequencing to real capacity
- Decision documented for the board
Commercial Diligence
An independent read of a market, a target or a plan, reported unedited including the findings that argue against the course being considered.
- Findings reported unedited
- Walk-away advice included
- Fixed fee, not contingent
- Model handed over to you
Advisory Follow-Up
The twelve and twenty-four month review, offered standalone to businesses that took advice from somebody else and want an honest read on how it went.
- Available on others' advice
- Outcomes assessed against the original
- No blame, just the record
- Findings are yours alone
What a logged recommendation looks like
Specific enough to be assessed. Not "focus on enterprise customers" but a named segment, a target contract value and a timeframe, because vague advice cannot be marked.
With its stated reasoning. The assumptions it rests on, recorded at the time, so a later review can establish whether the advice was wrong or the assumption was.
With a named owner on your side. A recommendation nobody in the business owns will not be acted on, and that is worth recording too.
And a review date. Twelve and twenty-four months, diarised at the point the advice is given rather than promised vaguely.
